Located in Bourda in Georgetown, Guyana, between Regent Street and North Road, the Bourda Cricket Ground is home to the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC).
The Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) is the oldest surviving cricket club in the Caribbean, founded in 1858.
The now famous Bourda Ground saw its First Test cricket with West Indies v England, Feb 21-26, 1930, and its last with West Indies v South Africa, Mar 31- Apr 4, 2005. Its last One Day International (ODI) was with West Indies v Zimbabwe, May 7, 2006.
The names of stands at Bourda honoured some of the world’s best Guyanese cricketers: Clive Lloyd, Rohan Kanhai and Lance Gibbs.
While it is no longer being used to host international test cricket, and the world renowned Clive Lloyd stand no longer exists, the Bourda ground remains an icon for cricket in Guyana and the Caribbean.
